Cygnal Poll Finds Nearly Two Thirds of Voters Want Congress to Work on Child Tax Credit

WASHINGTON, D.C. New polling of likely general election voters conducted by Cygnal with support from American Policy Ventures found that a significant plurality of voters support a bipartisan compromise that provides lower income families with a more generous Child Tax Credit.

Voters were asked, after over 30 years of both Republicans and Democrats expanding the Child Tax Credit (CTC) to cut taxes for families, what they would like to see Congress do with the policy — and it found that nearly two thirds of voters want to see Congress work on a solution.

Voters were then asked if they would support a bipartisan compromise for the CTC, which would likely focus on providing lower income families with a more generous credit — finding that a plurality of respondents, across both parties, support a bipartisan compromise.

The Child Tax Credit helps parents cover the costs of raising a family.
